I fixed this problem by turning off bi-directional printing on my xp machine and by setting the link speed set via the printer front control panel, Network settings menu to txFull. I’ve tried all the drivers that HP offer on there site for the n, but none seems to work. The n doesn’t have wireless capabilities. network printer goes offline after reboot, HP 2600n
