I fixed this problem by turning off bi-directional printing on my xp machine and by setting the link speed set via the printer front control panel, Network settings menu to txFull. I’ve tried all the drivers that HP offer on there site for the n, but none seems to work. The n doesn’t have wireless capabilities. network printer goes offline after reboot, HP 2600n
Out of the box, I hooked it up, plugged it into the network where an older color laser was working just fine the weekend before at the same drop – so I know the network is fineinstalled the drivers, and my first print job failed.
This started about 6 months ago with 5 of these n printers that we have int he office. Click Finish to complete software installation.
I have deactivated all these applications and the issue persists.

Instead of having link speed on auto detect, we changed it to 10M. When the printer Ready light is on and no other jobs are printing, press and hold the Go button on the printer control panel for 5 seconds to print a configuration page and obtain the IP address. So I ask here if anyone has successfully managed to get this printer working on Windows server and how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
